Deputy / Senior Deputy Manager – Stores (Finance)

The Deputy / Senior Deputy Manager – Stores (Finance) will be responsible for end-to-end management of the physical stores operations at Lagos Free Zone, ensuring effective inventory control, process discipline, and safeguarding of materials. The role focuses exclusively on stores operations, including receipt, storage, issuance, stock accuracy, and compliance with approved procedures. The incumbent will work closely with the Finance and user departments to ensure accurate documentation, timely reporting, and strong internal controls over inventory, while maintaining efficient and orderly warehouse operations.

Key Responsibilities:
•	Manage day-to-day physical operations of the stores, including receipt, storage, preservation, and issuance of materials.
•	Ensure accurate recording of all inventory movements, including GRNs, issues, returns, and transfers, in line with approved processes.
•	Maintain strict inventory control, ensuring stock accuracy through regular cycle counts and periodic physical stock verification.
•	Establish, implement, and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for stores operations and material handling.
•	Ensure proper segregation, identification, and labelling of materials to prevent loss, damage, or misuse.
•	Coordinate with user departments to ensure timely material availability while maintaining optimal stock levels.
•	Investigate and report stock variances, shortages, damages, and obsolete or slow-moving items, and support corrective actions.
•	Ensure compliance with internal control requirements, safety standards, and company policies within the stores.
•	Support finance and audit teams during internal and external audits, including physical verification and documentation.
•	Supervise and guide stores personnel to ensure adherence to procedures, discipline, and safety practices.
•	Maintain proper documentation and records for inventory, movements, and approvals, ensuring audit readiness at all times.
•	Identify opportunities to improve stores efficiency, layout, and process effectiveness.

Reliability & Discipline: Dependable methodical and process-driven approach to work. Additional Skill/Experience • Professional certification in Stores Management / Logistics / Supply Chain will be an added advantage • Working knowledge of inventory accounting and basic financial controls is preferred
