Job Summary Responsible for the safe, efficient and continuous operation of all LFZ Water Treatment Plants and Sewage Treatment Plant (STP), ensuring treated water and effluent complies with regulatory standards. Manage Water Treatment Plant (WTP) to ensure safe, quality water availability across the zone. Operates, monitors and optimizes treatment processes, performs routine laboratory testing, preventive maintenance, chemical and sludge management, maintains operational records and supports environmental compliance, asset reliability and HSE excellence. Key Responsibilities • Operate and monitor all STP and WTP processes and equipment including pumps, blowers, dosing systems, aerators and clarifiers. • Optimize treatment processes by adjusting operational parameters. • Collect influent/effluent samples and perform routine laboratory tests (pH, DO, temperature, turbidity, MLSS, sludge levels and residual chlorine). Send confirmatory samples to laboratory. • Maintain accurate operational logs, laboratory records and monthly performance reports. • Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, lubrication and minor repairs; report major faults promptly. • Manage treatment chemicals, PPE, consumables and spare parts inventory. • Operate and monitor sludge handling and disposal in compliance with regulations. • Develop, review and update SOPs for STP/WTP operations and maintenance. • Support environmental audits and ensure compliance with applicable wastewater discharge regulations. • Maintain high housekeeping standards, participate in emergency response and promote continuous improvement in energy and chemical efficiency. Key Performance Indicators • STP uptime =98%. • 100% portability and availability of drinking water. • 100% compliance with effluent discharge standards. • =95% preventive maintenance completion. • 100% completion of operational and laboratory records. • Zero chemical stock-outs. • Equipment fault response within 30 minutes. • Zero Lost Time Injuries and zero environmental non-compliance notices. • Monthly reports.

Required Competencies • Knowledge of water treatment processes including treatment options media selection and process management requirements. • Knowledge of wastewater treatment processes and sludge management systems. • Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills. • Basic laboratory testing and data analysis. • Inventory and documentation management. • Microsoft Excel and reporting skills. • Strong communication teamwork problem-solving and safety awareness. Qualifications: • OND/HND in Environmental Science Chemistry Chemical Engineering Water Resources or related discipline. • >5 years of industrial WTP/wastewater/STP operations experience. • Knowledge of biological wastewater treatment pumps blowers dosing systems and laboratory testing. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office SCADA/CMMS experience is an advantage.
