Creating Technical Drawings:  
Primarily responsible for producing detailed technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics using computer-aided design (CAD) software or other software based on specifications and instructions from engineers, architects, or designers. These drawings may include plans, elevations, sections, and details of structures or mechanical components. 
Interpreting Specifications:  
They review sketches, drawings, and other documentation to understand the requirements and specifications for the project. This involves analyzing design information provided by architects, engineers, or designers. 
Drafting Standards:  
Ensuring compliance with drafting standards and guidelines is crucial. Draftsmen must be familiar with industry-specific standards (e.g., ANSI, ISO) and company-specific drafting practices to produce accurate and standardized drawings. 
Detailing and Annotation:  
Adding dimensions, annotations, symbols, and other necessary details to drawings to convey design intent clearly. This includes specifying materials, finishes, and tolerances as required. 
Collaboration:  
Working closely with engineers, architects, and other professionals to incorporate design changes and modifications into drawings. Draftsmen often participate in design review meetings to discuss and resolve issues. 
Document Control:  
Managing and organizing drawing files and documents effectively. This involves version control, file naming conventions, and maintaining a structured document management system. Organize and maintain all drawing files, ensuring that they are up-to-date and easily accessible for project teams. 
Technical Support:  
Providing technical support to engineers and architects during the construction or manufacturing phase. This may include answering queries, providing clarifications and adjusting drawings as needed. 
Updating and Revising Drawings: 
Revising drawings based on feedback, markups, or changes in design requirements.
