Key Responsibilities: Fire Suppression and Emergency Response • Respond promptly to fire alarms and other emergency situations. • Perform firefighting duties, including fire containment, suppression, and rescue operations. • Use firefighting tools, equipment, and personal protective gear effectively. Pump Operations and Equipment Management • Operate, monitor, and maintain fire pumps during firefighting operations to ensure consistent water supply and pressure. • Inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain pumps, hoses, and associated firefighting equipment. Preventive and Routine Activities • Perform routine inspections and maintenance on vehicles, pumps, and tools to ensure operational readiness. • Participate in fire drills, risk assessments, and pre-incident planning. • Assist in station upkeep and ensure the readiness of all emergency response tools. Training and Development • Attend regular training sessions to improve technical firefighting and pump operation skills. • Stay updated on advancements in firefighting techniques, tools, and safety standards. Public Education and Community Engagement • Conduct fire safety awareness programs for the public and community stakeholders. • Promote best practices for fire prevention and emergency preparedness. Documentation and Reporting • Prepare reports on equipment performance, and maintenance activities and submit same to shift supervisor. • Maintain accurate vehicle and equipment logs for compliance, review, and future planning.
